// POST_PROCESS_STACK

The part is not finished when the machine stops.

CNC and metal 3D printing each have their own post-processing chain. We combine functional machining, thermal treatment, surface finish, and inspection around the part’s actual use.

CNC_POST

CNC finishes

As machined
Tool marks retained to the agreed machining standard
Fine machining
Additional passes for selected functional or visual faces
Bead blasting
Uniform matte surface and visual blending
Anodizing
Aluminum surface protection and optional color
Polishing
Reduced roughness or a specified visual appearance
Coating / conversion
Powder coat, plating, passivation, or black oxide by material
METAL_AM_POST

Metal AM post-processing

Support removal
Remove build supports and clean accessible attachment points
Stress relief / heat treatment
Thermal route selected for alloy and performance target
HIP review
Considered where density and fatigue requirements justify it
Secondary CNC
Machine datums, threads, bores, sealing faces, and critical interfaces
Surface refinement
Blast, tumble, polish, or otherwise refine agreed surfaces
Coating / passivation
Selected after alloy, surface, and service conditions are known
THERMAL

Heat treatment

Stress relief, hardening, aging, or HIP are considered against alloy, process, and performance—not added by habit.

SURFACE

Surface definition

Specify functional faces, visible faces, target appearance, masking, and any no-finish zones.

VERIFY

Inspection after post

Critical dimensions are checked at the correct stage, especially when heat or coating can change them.

Build the complete process stack.

Add required finish, roughness, heat treatment, masking, inspection, and documentation to the drawing or project notes. Exact availability is confirmed with the quote.
